Os course, our main ob jective now is to win the war and even though we all must, and are, doing all we can in the interest of national defense, we must not forget that post-war preparation is of vital importance, especially to Edenton and smaller towns where little or no defense manufacturing is going on. With the use of our new supply of attractive advertising matter, our on file contacts with numerous manufac turing concerns, and our almost daily inquiries from home-seekers, we should, and can, make Edenton a more popular and progressive com monwealth after the duration. The Town of Edenton is practically debt-free and there is no good reason why we should not provide certain possible advantages, even in these times. I have observed that towns and cities which are really going places are providing playground parks, community centers, swimming pools, community buildings, USO centers, beautification projects, and other necessary objectives vital to the progress of any town.
