H. Fabian, national campaign director, expresses - his gratitude for the part the thea - ties throughout the country played r in this drive, saying “Make It a Bil- SionT is now a reality—mot just a r slogan, i The Taylor Theatre joined with t other theatres in helping to raise this - quota. Manager Jimmy Earnhardt i reporting that during September the t local theatre sold $2,136 worth of : bonds and stamps, and that since June about STjOW# in bonds and stamps have been sold at the box office. Commenting on the drive, Mr. Earnhardt says: “By the way, the war is not yet wen. War bonds and : stamps must continue to be sold in ever increasing amounts. The Sep tember drive is over but the selling of bonds and stamps is part of our J job for the duration. Keep up the; good work.” Young Men Needed For Inshore Patrol Chief Robert E. Brooks of the U. ; S. Navy, was in Edentom last week seeking enlistments for inshore duty, which includes petroling of the coastline and inland waterways. For young men who are interested in this phase of defense work, they may secure necessary information at Room 4(06 in the FVderal Building in Norfolk, Vsl. Chief Brooks left a number of at tractive and instructive booklets at The Herald office which go into de tail as to the advantages of joining the Navy. These booklets will be given to any person who is interested if he calls at The Herald office. Catholic Services Sunday At 11 A. M. Pruden, special tax attorney. During September Mr. Pruden col lected $410.13 for back taxes, which were for smalt amounts from 1933 to 1940.
