Weather Favorable For Housing Crops In Chowan County Practically All of Cotton Crop Has Already Been Picked Dry weather during the last few weeks has enabled harvesting to pro gress nicely throughout Chowan County. Most farmers report that practically all of their cotton has been picked. Cotton picking labor is being con centrated on those farms which have been unable to get cotton picked, and it is the opinion of County Agejit C. W. Overman that practically all of this work will be done by October 20. l’eanut digging is progressing as rapidly as the nuts are ready, but in a few' instances farmers are getting behind in this work. However, if the favorable weather continues, it is ex pected that practically the entire peanut crop in the county will be housed with little more damage.
