Meredith Jones, Jr. j The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Wales. She graduated from St. Mery’s School, Raleigh, and attended a secretarial school in Orange, N. J. The groom is the son of Mrs. H. Sprague Silver • and the late Mr. Silver, of "Midway Plantation,” Raleigh. He attended; State College and has just returned from H> months’ duty in the South! Pacific. Ehringhsus assisted in re ceiving in the room with the wed | ding party, and others assisting in the house were Mr. and Mrs. George ! C. Wood, Judge and Mrs. Richard D. ; Dixon, Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Warren, : Ensign and Mrs. Henry. Colton and Mrs. Gordon Price. Miss Sophie , \y°od and Miss Margaret Pruden served punch. Serving in the dining room were Misses Evelyn and Kath ryn Brown, Helen Willis, Mrs. Rich surd Weeks and Miss Virginia By dum. The dining room table was covered with an exquisite lace cloth , and centered with an arrangement of white roses and snapdragons in a silver urn. The cake was cut with the groom’s sword. The house was decorated throughout with snap dragons, calla lilies and a profusion, of 'Southern smilax. " Preceding the event many social courtesies were extended to Miss V. ales and her wedding, party. The little girl was sick only five days, becom ing ill the previous Sunday night Funeral services were held at the! home of her parents Saturday after-1 keen, Christmas day, at 2 o’clock with interment taking place in the family cemetery.
