their best game in every respect, and
by the victory evened up the count
i»f three victories and three losses
for the season. Aside from Franklin,
the Aces have defeated Manteo and
Windsor, while they dropped games
to Greenville, Columbia and Hert

fans on hand when on the first play
of the game he raced 72 yards for
a touchdown. Franklin kicked to
I open the game and Cates who rec
eived the ball slipped it to Hollow
-1 ell, who, running in the opposite dir
ection, out-ran the Franklin boys and
with several would-be tacklcrs taken
out with perfect interference, crossed
the pay dirt stripe untouched. Short
ly afterward Edenton marched 611
yards and on a pass from Cates to
Wheeler, the latter scored the sec-,
ond touchdown. •
Early in the fourth quarter Daven
port recovered a Franklin fumble,
' and on three plays the third toueh
down was scored on a pass from
Cates to Wheeler. Again in this
quarter Dick Hollowell thrilled the
crowd when he intercepted a pass,
tore loose from several Franklin
’ players and ran 71 yards for the
final score of the game.
Hollowell was easily the outstand
ing star of the game, though Jack
Habit and Jimmy Cates also played
a bang-up game in the backfield.
. The entire Edenton line turned in a
splendid performance, yielding very
, little ground and at one time held
[the visitors for four downs on the
| four-yard line. For the visitors Ernie
, Hensen was best on offense, while
Bill Pierce and Wilson Jones were
| best on defense.
