PAGE EIGHT Town Discusses j Leasing Part Base j For Dairy Project Vernon B. Hill of Dela ware Interested In Locating Here Town Council was called into special session Wednesday afternoon I of last week to consider subleasing a portion of the Edenton Naval Air Station to Vernon B. Hill of Bridge ville, Delaware. Mr. Hill is a dairy man and is interested in moving his plant from Delaware, where he sells milk wholesale. If he comes to Eden ton he plans to retail milk. After a visit to the base Mr. Hill informed Town CounSilmen that adequate facilities were available, but that considerable improvements would be necessary to meet the State’s re quirements. A committee was appointed to ac company Mr. Hill to the base Thurs day to decide definitely what portion of the base he needed, but before the inspection trip materialized, Mr. Hill was called to his home. Nothing further has developed, though Mr. Hill appeared definitely interested in moving to Edenton. Geo. Twiddy New Chairman Os Scout Albemarle District Plans to Extend Scout ing to Rural Areas Os Section At the annual meeting of the, West Albemarle District Boy Scout Com mittee Friday night, George S. Twiddy was elected chairman to succeed P. S. McMullan. Dr. A. B. Bonner of Hertford was re-elected vice chairman, Geddes Potter dis trict commissioner and Mr. McMullan was elected to the executive com mittee of the Tidewater Council. The group met at the American Legion hut at the Naval Air Station, where they were served a chicken dinner, after which the meeting ad journed to the office of John A.
