E. Morris in view of planning a dem
onstration on selective cutting.
Mr. Morris at the age of 88 years
is very much interested in timber, and
with the assistance of Mr. Overman,
he plans to start a selective cutting
demonstration this fall.

VISIT CALEDONIA PRISON FARM

County agents from the Northeast
ern District met at Scotland Neck
last week and afterwards visited the
Caledonia Prison Farm. They ob
served many interesting things at
this farm such as pastures, beef
cattle, hogs tomatoes and general
field crops. This farm produces all
of its food and feed and if all meals
are as delicious as the one the county
agents were served, are doing
an excellent job in food production,
according to those who attended.

Ryder pictures and has played in a
number of successes including “China
Girl,” “The Horn Blows at Midnight,”
starring Jack Benny; “Humouresque,”
“Treasure of Sierra' Madre,” “Pillow
to Post” and many other hits. His lat
est roles are featured parts in “The
Return of Rin-Tin-Tin” and “The Last
Round-up” with Gene Autry.
WARD FAMILY REUNION
The annual reunion of the A. J.
Ward family was held Sunday, July
18, at the old homestead. The mid
day meal was a delightful picnic
