out this State and in Virginia. The
* affair was held at the armory, where
| a weiner roast was the highlight and
very much enjoyed by all who at
-1 tended.
After all had been filled, John A.
! Holmes paid glowing tribute to both
Mr. and Mrs. McCullers for their
9 splendid work among the youth of
e Edenton, and in token of love and es-
B teem, presented the Kinston couple a
" silver gift, a present from the boys
and girls who think so much of them.
After the party at the armory the
group adjourned to the band t room,
where about 30 former members of
the band, known as “The Pride of
Edehton,” picked up instruments and,
led by Mr. McCullers, played several
numbers which compared favorably
with the sort of music Edentonians
heard -them play several years ago.
HAIRDRESSERS MEET
A meeting of the Albemarle Hair
dressers Association was held Wed
nesday of last week at Manteo,
which was a very delightful affair,
according to Mrs. Anne S. Jenkins
of Edenton, who is president of the
organization. The principal business
transacted was a thorough discus
sion of matters to be presented at
the State Hairdressers Association
convention which will be held in
Asheville on September 26, and which
will be attended by Mrs. Jenkins.
The Manteo meeting was well at
tended by hairdressers from this sec
tion of the state. The next meeting
will be held in Hertford in Sep
tember.
