Jones of Manteo, announced the fol
lowing program for the February and
April meetings:
Dr. John Messick, president of East
Carolina Teachers College, Greenville,
will be guest speaker at the Febru
ary meeting, which will be held at the
Joseph Hewes Hotel, Edenton. Dr.
Messick will be asked to speak on
“Teacher Recruitment.”
At this meeting members from
Delta Chapter of Greenville will be
guests of the - local chapter, and a
joint initiation ceremony will be held.
The April meeting will be held in
Elizabeth City, at the Virginia Dare
Hotel, with Mesdames George Frank
Hill and George Winslow as hostesses.

Duke University will be the guest t

“Professionalism In Teaching.” Mrs. i
Milah P. Meekins of Manteo led the
discussion, with Mrs. Mary L. Evans, «
also of Manteo, as response leader.
Miss Paulina Hassell was to speak I
on “Responsibility of the Teaching -
Profession In Our State Legislature.”
In her absence, the president, Mrs. s
Jones, spoke briefly on the subject. A 1
report from the Delta Kappa Gamma s
Bulletin was given by Miss Matilda t
Alexander of Creswell.

At Edenton Meeting \
Mrs. Udvarnoki, missionary from 1
Hungary, brought an inspiring mes
sage to a large group of the Woman’3
Missionary Society of Edenton Bap
tist Church Monday afternoon.
In speaking of things she had 1
learned ffom the Baptists there, one
was that “every member of a Baptist '
Church was a missionary. This is ‘
necessary for their only weapon is
the life they live.”
