Representatives Os : Two C. Os C. Groups Visit Phone Office Efforts Made to Correct All Legitimate Com plaints Representatives of the Senior and Junior Chamber of Commerce made a visit to the local phone company this past week and were cordially re ceived by Mrs. Luther Keeter, chief operator. Two new boards have been added to take care of the increased phone traffic. Mrs. Keeter pointed jN out by demonstration that a rapid jiggling of the receiver by an im patient client did not register on the board but that a slow motion caused • a light to go on and also to make a in the receiver worn by the * operator. It was also clearly demon strated that on long distance calls, as soon as the call was completed a red light flashed' on before the operator, who immediately stamped a ticket with a time clock to record the ter mination of the call. Mrs. Keeter expressed a wash that many others would pay a visit to the company and learn first hand how the phone traffic is handled. She stated that every effort wrill be made to correct any legitimate complaint, and that the operators and the com pany feel encouraged over the inter est shown in their problems. Kermit Layton represented the Jaycees, and Peter Carlton the Senior Chamber Los Commerce and Merchants Asso p ciation.
