For some time J. E. Coffey, in charge of the Federal malaria control program in this area, has housed his equipment in the Edenton armory. When the Edeniton unit of the National Guard was reorganized, Mr. Coffey was obliged to seek new quarters and sub sequently moved to one of the build ings at the air station. Since the base has been reactivated, Mr. Coffey had to seek a new place. Mr. Holland is very much in favor of the program and has contributed the space for the new warehouse. Old Age Benefits In County Total $3,372 In Chowan County 3,372 was dis tributed in way of old age assistance during April, while $990.50 went for aid to dependent children and $329 for blind aid payments. According to the monthly report of Mrs. J. H. Mc- Mullan, welfare superintendent, $164.35 was spent for seven general assistance cases, while other financial aid included three persons hospitaliz ed in the county, two hospitalized outside the county, transportation furnished for three transients and one medical care case. Service cases included four adult parolees under supervision, 14 cases receiving care from Veterans Rehab ilitation in cooperation with the Wel fare Department, two child labor cer tificates issued and 26 children receiv ing individual care. DANCNG PUPILS GUESTS AT WOMAN’S CLUB MEETING Edenton’s Junior Woman’s Club held its monthly meeting Wednesday afternoon, at which time Miss Shelly .nd her dancing pupils presented a very interesting program. The pupils were accoitipanied on the piano by Miss Susan Thigpen. Carolyn Elliott Takes Part In Scotch Dances At DAR Dedication Miss Carolyn Eltiott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Elliott, and a i group of Scotch Highlanders of Flora MacDonald College, danced the Scotch 1 dances at the dedication of the Daugh ters of the American Revolution Chapter house at Farmville, N.
