Brown for the Indians hurled on about
even terms, each giving up six hits,
although the Colonials’ hits netted
four runs, while the Indians scored
two. The Indians played errorless
ball, while the colonials made three
miscues.
Doc Murphy, colonial third eacker
led at bat for both teams, chalking
up three hits and also knocked the
ball to the left field fence, but it w T as
snagged in a spectacular catch by
the Indian leftfielder. Manager Gas
house Parker thrilled the fans by belt
ing a home run. The ball soared to
deep center field over the temporary
fence for a ride of about 370 feet. It
was the only circuit clout of the game,
which was played in 85 minutes.
