The day old chicks were delivered to the club members on February 23, and I are now well advanced. Club mem bers who are members of the 4-H Poultry Chain are urged to keep plenty of growing mash before their birds at all times and not overfeed r with grain. Several flocks were vaccinated for protection against fowl pox. In some cases the club members’ parents have old chickens which they plan to dis pose of shortly, and therefore none of the chickens on this farm were vaccinated. The Club member’s flock will be vaccinated as soon as the old birds are disposed of. Experience is rarely valued by those who need it most. Wvwwvwvrs/vxn^ww\/wwvws/wwv\^«<vsi State College Publishes Cotton Insect Bulletin A new 16-page full-color bulletin on cotton insect pests and their con trol was published this week by -the State College Extension Service. Cop ies of the publication are available free on request. Dr. Walter M. Kulash, entomologist for the North Carolina Agricultural Experiment Station, prepared the text. Six colored plates of the major cotton insect pests found in North Carolina were furnished by the Di- vision of Cotton Insects, Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantines, of the U. S. Department of Agricul ture and Extension Service of the Clemson Agricultural College, Clem son, S. C. In brief foreward, Dr. I. 0. Schaub, director of the Extension Service, as serts that control of insects is very important to the efficient production of cotton in North Carolina, since about 17 per cent of the crop is annu ally destroyed by insects. CHRISTIAN CHURCH SERVICES Services at the First Christian Church have been announced as fol lows by the pastor, the "Rev. Eather C. Alexander: Bible School at 10 o’clock Sunday morning. Morning service at 11 o’clock. Young People’s meeting at 6:30 P. M. Evening service at 7:30 o’clock. Wednesday evening prayer service at 7:30 o’clock. Everyone is welcome at all services.
