Mr. and Mrs. Lance Bufflap, A. B. Herring, W. B. Herring and Miss Lida Mac Herring of Wallace were brief visitors at the home of Mr. and Mr?. J. Edwin Bufflap Saturday morning. The group attended a show ing of “The Lost Colony” at Manteo Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Harrell Pratt and two sons of Norfolk spent the week-end visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Ke hayes. Mr. ahd Mrs. Colon Sawyer and two children of Norfolk spent the week end visiting Mrs. Sawyer’s mother, Mrs. H. L. Nixon in the Rocky Hock section. The Rev. Harold W. Gilmer, Mrs. 1 R. T. Warren and daughter, Sandra Jean Warren, left Monday for a visit with relatives at Greensboro and Shelbyville, Indiana. They will return August 31, accompanied by Harold W. Gilmer, Jr., who has been pur suing graduate courses in Latin and Greek at the University of Michigan this summer. Mr. and Mrs. David D. Oglesby of Norfolk are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Oglesby. Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Willis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Oglesby. Mrs. Willis is a sister of Mr. Oglesby. Marguerite Hollowell Engaged To Lt. Jones Mr. and Mrs. Raleigh Britton Hollo well of Edenton announce the engage ment of their daughter,, Marguerite Ann, to Joseph Bentley Jones, Lieu tenant (jg), United States Navy, son of Mrs. William Atkin Jones and the late Mr. Jones of Louisburg, N. Peter son, and they reside at 206% N. Granville St. Wilders Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Wilder on Tuesday of this week celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. The couple was united in marriage August 16, 1899, at the home of Bill Byrum in the Cowpen Neck section.
