Department officials have estimated that approximately 160,000 L and M drivers must have their li censes renewed before December 31. Issuance to persons in this category p, began on July 1. Os the 29,029 driver’s licenses is ,/sued during the month, 24,417 were C duplicates isued on old application; Jland 2,086 were duplicates issued on new application. A total of 1,256 bhaffeur’s licenses for 1949-50 were granted and 98 duplicates were is sued. The net revenue from issuance of licenses was $56,289.23. Os the amount, $52,248 was from original operator’s licenses, $1,591.73 from duplicate operator’s licenses, $2,399.- -50 from original chaffeur’s licenses and SSO from cuplicate chaffeur’s li censes.
