What does this mean to you? It means if you are one of this num ber, you will have to pay an additional tai on your earned net income for the year 1951 and thereafter. It also means that you will be entitled to all benefits provided by the Old-Age and Survivors’ Insurance provision of the Social Security Act. Jincome derived from the practice of the Ministry of any church or from the performance of the duties of any religious order cannot be considered for the purpose of this law. Income drived from the practice of their profession by any of the following professional men or women is exclu ed; physician, lawyer,'dentist, osteo path, veterinarian, chiropractor, nat uropath, optometrist, architect, certi fies public accountant, licensed or full practicing accountant, Christian, Science practitioneer, professional en ghjreer, or funeral director. Income de rived from the operation of a farm is i alsb excluded. Genemlly speaking,' alljother self-employed persons are as- 1 fedted. The tax imposed for Old-Age and Survivors’ Insurance jfe 2% ■% for the yesrs 1951, 1952 and 19$. This tax applies to net income from self-gov eiajjpent if it is S4OO or more a year, with the maximum of $3,600 in any ons taxable year. The wedding will take place, during early summer. Miss Walker is a member of the Edenton High School faculty. Just before dawn the service was commenoed iby the group singing the; spiritual, “Were You There When .They Crucified ny Lord,” followed by the [Rev. N. IS. Griffith reading the Scripture. The group responded iby singing, “He Arose.” A fervent | prayer was uttered by the IRev. E. S. | Parker, after which the group was I favored with a solo, “Sunrise,’’ by Johnnie Barnes. A short and very impressive talk on the “Resurrection” was given by the Rev. C. C. Bpone, followed by the group singing the hymn, “Christ the Lord is Risen To day.” The group singing was accompanied by (Mrs. E. L. Barnes at the organ. The service was concluded by the Rev. H. A. Valentine giving the benediction. Many worshippers remembered their loved ones by placing flowers on the graves. Mrs. Hattie E. Tynch Dies At Portsmouth Miti. Hattie E. Tynich, 64, died Sun day morning at 5:15 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. E. Clark, in Portsmouth after an illness cf two months. She was a native of Bertie County but made her home at helvidere for many years. Surviving are four sons; George lynch of Des Moines, lowa, Frank Tynch of Belvidere, Albeit Tynch of ’hiladelphia and John Tynch of : Portsmouth; four daughter, Miss .evie Tynch at home, Mrs. T. E. Parker of Edenton, Mrs. F. E. Clark of Portsmouth, Mrs. Alton Bunch of Gates; two brothers, Jim Brown of Baltimore, Frank Brown of Jackson ville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Rrinn of Baltimore and Mrs. John Brinn of Jacksonville, Fla, Eighteen grandchildren and three great grand children also survive. (Funeral services were held in the Rocky Hock Baptist Church, of which she was a member, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. The pastor, the Rev. R. E. Gordon, officiated. Burial was made in the family ceme tery in the Rocky iHock section. Pallbearers were John Lee Spruill, Willie Spruill, Murray Tynch, Jim Tynch, (Spergeon Tynch and V. E. Tynch. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED . Mr. and Mrs. William C. Brunson announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Joyce Elliott Brunson, to Rodney Tuttle Harrell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney T. Harrell.
