215 People Enjoy Exhibition Os Art In Old Barker House Mr. and Mrs. W. Frith Winslow Serve as Judges Edenbon’s two white schools, Oho- j wan High School, Rocky Hock 'School and a number of adults submitted en tries in the art exhibition held in the ! Penelope Barker house Saturday and Sunday, which was attended 'by 215 people. The exhibition was sponsored by the Edenton Woman’s Club. Mr. and Mrs. .W. This group of women collected $818.50. To this amount White Oak School made a contribution of $19.38; EUen ton Elementary School, $63.07; St. John’s School, $5.45; Rocky Hock School, $21.57; Chowan High School, $118.54; Edenton Junior-Senior High School, $109.01. In the colored section the Senior and Junior Woman's Club agreed to conduct a canvass. The senior group collected $53.00 and the junior group $7.00. The drive was directed by offi cers of the senior club, of which Mrs. W. H. Collins is president. Chowan High Juniors' Play At School March 19 Members of the cart of “The Big Blow-Up” have been rehearsing faith fully for the past few weeks and hope to provide an evening of good entertainment Thursday night, March 19, when they present tins three-act comedy in the auditorium of Chowan (High School. This is a play in which the leading characters are four suit cases, which look so much alike that when their owners get them mixed the result is not only uproariously funny, but most exciting as well —because in one suit case is a time bomb and in another a valuable pearl necklace.
