Chill until ice crystals begin to form around edges. Mix until smooth the sugar, butter, lemon juice and sain Break graham crackers into inch pieces. Put ice cold milk into a cold quart bowl. Whip with cold rotary beater or electric beater, at high speed until fluffy. Whip in powdered sugar mixture !4 at a time. Stir in pineapple. Fold in cracker pieces and put into ice cube tray holding 1 quart. Sprinkle crumbs over top. Freeze, without stirring, in automatic refrigera tor at coldest temperature until firm. E. Privott, of the Cross Roads community won second place in the marketing phase of the NJVGA Team Demonstration Contest. This contest is sponsored by the Nat ional Junior Vegetable Growers Asso ciation, with H. M. Covington, Exten sion Horticulturist, acting as State Di rector. Jackie and Leon gave the demon stration on “Field Grading Sweet Po tatoes.” In their demonstration they told of the importance of grading sweet potatoes, told why it should be done in the field and actually showed how the job can be done on a practical basis. Sherwood Harrell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Harrell, of the Cowpen Neck community, gave a demonstra tion on “Control of Destructive Gar den Insect Pests.” Sherwood won third place with his demonstration. In his demonstration he told of the different kinds of destructive garden insect pests and showed how each type can be controlled. Sherwood’s demonstration was on the production phase of the NJVGA contest. This was the largest contest ever held in the Eastern district. PRESBYTERIAN SERVICES Services at the Presbyterian Church are announced as follows by the pas tor, the Rev. James MacKenzie: Sunday School at 10 o’clock Sunday morning with classes for all groups. Morning worship at 11 o’clock, when Mr. MacKenzie will preach a sermon from the book of Genesis. No prayer service will be held this week because of the revival.
