753 People Arrested By Police In Year Chief of Police George I. Dail Submits Annual Report With the town’s fiscal year begin ning July 1, Chief of Police George I. Dail presented his annual report to Town Council at Tuesday night’s meeting. During the year Edenton police made a total of 753 arrests, of whom 668 were found guilty. The arrests included 393 white males, 311 colored males, 24 white females and 26 col ored females. Drunks and miscel laneous traffic violations led the list with 176 and 180 arrests respectively. Police during the year answered 610 calls, investigated 62 accidents, in vestigated larceny of two automobiles, recovered five stolen automobiles, worked 33 funerals, reported 504 street lights out, extended 547 cour tesies, found 193 doors unlocked, made 521 investigations, answered 28 fire calls, and issued 6,161 citations. Police made 7,028 radio calls and were on the air nine hours, 45 minutes and 40 seconds. Fines amounted to $6,458.00 and costs $4,825.72, or a total of sll,- 283.72. Os this amount $2,189.50 was returned to the town in way of offi cers’ fees. Brown meat slowly in hot fat. Sprinkle any flour that is left over browned meat. Add onion and cook slowly 5 minutes. Stir in boiling water. Cover and cook over low heat 30 min utes. Add spaghetti, carrots and celery. Cover and cook over low heat 30 min utes longer, or until vegetables are tender. Stir in milk. Heat until steam ing hot, but do not boiL Serve hot.
