A conference constitution was adopted, officers elected and sched ules arranged for conference football and basketball next year with the ad dition of the two new sports to be come effective with tne next school term. Preliminary plans were also made for a conference basketball tourna ment for both boys and girls. Officers elected were: President J. S. Fleming of Plymouth; vice presi dent, Woodrow Taylor of Ahoskie; sec retary-treasurer, Gerald James of Edenton. Cancer Clinic Will Be Held In E. City Friday The Northeastern Cancer clinic will be held on Friday, April 2, in Eliza beth City at the Health Center with registration beginning at 1 o’clock. A free chest X-ray will be given anyone wishing it along with the examination of the five areas of the body where cancer is most easily found and cured. There are no limitations as to sex, race, physical, or economic status at the center. However, there are age requirements. Women should be 35 lor over and men should be 40 or more I unless they are referred by a doctor, or unless one of the “Seven Danger Signals” or “Symptoms” are present. Only 30 people can be seen at the Center each month due to limited fa cilities, so it is suggested that anyone who wishes to be assured of an ap pointment should write the Cancer Center, Elizabeth City for a priority.
