A visiting lay man will preach at the three ser vices to be held Friday and Sat urday nights at 8 o’clock and on Sunday morning at the 11 o’clock worship hour. The local Brotherhool also spon sored prayer services in the com munity Monday of this week through Wednesday. Three Edenton Boys Join Coast Guard The Coast Guard Recruiting Sta tion in Norfolk has announced the enlistment of Lloyd R. Goodwin, Alvin R. Waff and James L. Tynrh. These young men, all of Edenton and graduates of Edenton High 1 School, enlisted in the Coast Guard in the “Buddy Program” whereby they will report to the Cape May Coast Guard Training Station for their recruit training and all will he home on leave together during the month of June These young men, having had the different enlistment programs and training schools explained to them by Chief Boatswain’s Mate Miller, U, S. Coast Guard Recruiter, feel they have made a wise choice. HEARING POSTPONED Information from Hertford is to the effect that the preliminary hearing of Gibson Brickie was postponed Tuesday in Recorder’s Court due to his attorney heing un able to be present. Brickie is charged with involuntary man-j slaughter in connection with an au tomobile accident in which Miss! Eula Garrett lost her life.
