One of them, an animal weighing 701 1 pounds, was bought by Sgt. Julian C. Rise, of the Edenton Naval Air Station for 20'4 cents per pound. • T. W. Jones of Colonial Motor ' Court, bought Carlton’s other steer " which weighed 774 pounds for 21% ( cents per pound. Jack Perry was proud winner of "the reserve champion individual hog which weighed 229 pounds and was bought by Murray Baker for the P. D. Gwaltney, Jr., Packing i Company for 34% cents per pound. Carroll Goodwin’s individual hog won third prize and Richard ■ White’s individual hog won fourth place. Carroll’s hog which weigh , ed 186 pounds was bought by Ken neth Miller for Smithfield Pack ing Company for 20% .cents per pound and Richard’s hog which weighed 197 pounds was bought by Murray Baker for 19 cents per pound. Leon Evans’ pen of three hogs won reserve champion. His nogs, which weighed 623 pounds, were bought by Smithfield Packing | Company for 18 cents per pound, i f Sherwood Harrell’s pen of three j hogs, which weighed 584 pounds, > won third place in their class, and were bought by Smithfield Packing | Company for 17% cents per pound, j > Richard White also won honors for, his pen of three hogs, which weigh ed 614 pounds, won fourth prize j and were bought by Murray Baker for the P. D. Gwaltney, Jr., Pack-j ing Company for 18 cents per! pound. Other 4-H and FFA Club mem bers who entered hogs in the show and sale were: Danny Nixon (1), Gene Harrell (1), Joe Hollowoß (4), Carlton and Ronald Perry (1 each) and Frank Evans. Dick and Ray Lowe, Lewis and Ray Evans, 1 three each. A total of 36 hogs were entered and sold by 17 4-H and FFA Clu'b members.
