C. Chandler, pastor of the church, will lead the singing. Then to climax and bring to a close our revival services for the rural churches of Chowan Coun ty, historic old Rocky Hock Baptist Church will begin its regular revival services on the fourth Sunday in August, Aug ust 25, with the Rev. Fred Duckett, pastor at Denton, N. C., coming as evangelist. The choirs of the other churches are invited to bring special music which will be announced later. Members and friends of these four churches are urged to at tend the one night revivals dur ing the week of July 30 to Aug ust 2 as well as each revival of the four churches. The pastors of the four churches listed above ask that their members attend every service of every one of th£ four churches as is humanly pos sible so that every church will be filled and running over each night. They urge that friends who would like to attend the services in any of the churches come early to assure themselves of seats. People will be seated on a first come first served basis and no reserved seats will be held except for invalids. Extra chairs and seats are being ar ranged for by each ehurch to take care of all who come to the meetings. The public is urged to watch the local paper and tune in to the local radio station for fur ther announcements concerning these meetings which will be the highlight of the year for rural Chowan County. An earlier announcement con cerning these meetings stated that Warwick Baptist Church would join with the other three, but word has been received from the pastor there that the church did not wish at this time to withdraw from a similar plan among the churches of Gates County. Therefore, Macedonia Baptist Church has agreed to join with the other three churches to make this a Chowan County evangelistic meeting among the churches of the coun ty. 20 YEARS AGO Continued from Page I—Section 1 sisted in the search for Amelia Earhart, missing aviatrix.
