Beech Fork Club
Changes Meeting
“Do you know your best colors'
Does the color you wear really do
something for you? Do you make
the most of your hair, your skin,
and eyes by wearing a color that
is right for you?” These ques
tions were asked by Miss MaMred
Morris at the Beech Fork Home
Demonstration meeting at the
home of Mrs. Mattie Halsey.
“Color plays an important part
in your costume.” said Miss Mor
ris. “Often if the style of a dress
is flattering the whole effect can
be lost if the color is unbecom
ing. A good color scheme need:
contrast of (1) hue, which gives a
color its name, as red or green.
(2) value, the quality which
shows the amount of light and
dark colors, as light and dark
blue, (3) intensity, shows the
I brightness or dullness of a color
it as bright or dull red. It is im-
I portant to combine right colors.
fThe colors you wear even make
' your eyes look different.”
An inspiring devotional was
given by Mrs. Blanche Ober, fol
lowed by Mrs. Lillie Saunders
i leading in prayer. J
The ■ business session was con
" ducted by the president. It was
decided to change the night of
the meeting to the second Thurs
■ > day night of the month. The fed
eration meeting was discussed and
everyone urged to attend on Oc
tober 10. A reading of the “Citi
zenship Oath” was given by Mrs.
Mattie Halsey. Miss Morris read
an article on “Kissin’ Kin” and
gave a quiz on “Do You Know
The County Officials?”
After the meeting the hostess
served delicious refreshments
carrying out the schfeme of au
tumn leaves.
Take away wealth, fame and
social organizations, which
weigh not one jot in the bal
ance of God, and we get clearer
views of Principle.

itTmemori anT~
In memory of Mother, Mrs.
Linda Hollowell:
Three and a half years have pass
ed and gone,
Since God took you away.
It was so hard to give you up,
Mother;
But yet I know it had to be.
Your suffering days are over;
Your pain will be no more.
I know your name is written
On the list at Heaven’s door.
Deep in my heart is a picture:
Worth more than silver or gold;
't’s a picture of you, dear Mother,
Where memories will never grow
old.
There is no one like a Mother,
In this life or in th ; s land;
None can give a cup of water
Like Mother’s loving hand.
