-'-SECTION ONI PAGE TWO Capacity House bees ‘Springtime' The auditorium at the Junior •jenior High School was filled to capacity Friday night when the Senior High School Chorus pre sented a romantic operetta “Springtime” under tne direction ol Mrs. Mary L. Browning and Mrs. Alice Belch as dramatic coach. The play was very well pre sented with various members of the cast performing their parts with perfection, so that the play was very enjoyable and consid ered a big success from every viewpoint. Those taking part in the oper etta were: Rebecca Craft, Minta Hobbs, Dolly Wright, Billy Wil kins, Brenda Mooney, Ray Ward, Peggie Elliott, Harriet Bond. The tour bus, escorted by Eden ton police and State Highway patrolmen, was brought into town via South Granvi'lle Street, through West King Street to Hotel Joseph Hewes. Three attractive hostesses dressed in 18th century cos tumes greeted the guests and served Penelope Barker tea and cookies. They were Mrs. R. An inspection ot the Court House, which was very realistic as court was in session, the Court House Green, the teapot marker and the Joseph Hewes monument followed. The party then boarded the tour bus for an inspection of the James Iredell house and St. Paul’s Church. The group left for Elizabeth City a1 4:45 P. M. Thorud thanked all those who assisted the committee. “This has been a most successful re caption which is bound to bring far-reaching benefits to Edenton. We are grateful for your co operation,” he said. Mrs. W. L. Boswell, Mrs. Gilliam Wood, Mrs. Joe Thorud, Atkinson, Wood and Harding were members of the committee. COLERAIN RESIDENT DIES Moses S. Felton. 79. died Tues day afternoon at '2 o’clock at his home near Colerain after an ill ness of two months. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. El sie Lee Felton: two sons, Clin ton and Flovd Felton of Cole rain. a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Lovegrove of Norfolk: a sister. Mrs. Florence Godwin of Nor folk and five grandchildren. He was a member of the Cole rain Baptist Church, where fun eral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:3 r o’clock. The Rev. P.
