Tuesday morning at 3 o’clock at his home after an illness cov ering a two-year period. A na tive of Perquimans County, he was the son of the late Uriah Winslow Speight and Sallie Ann Berry and lived in Edenton 64 i years. He was a retired farm er and cotton ginner. Surviving are a son, Will Ed j ward Speight of Edenton; three daughters, Mrs. Anne Jenkins and Mrs. Margaret White, both of Edenton, and Mrs. Alula Col vin of Atlantic, Va. Twelve grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive. He was a member of the Eden ton Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the Williford Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph E. Fowlkes, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiat ed and burial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
