New Automotive Club Names Set Os Officers By JUDY EVANS The Chowan County Automo tive Club for 4-H Club members , held its first meeting May 2 at , the Advance Community Build jing. Dick Lowe and Carlton Perry, leaders of the club, gave a very Interesting talk on the “Importance ol the Automobile on Our Way of Life.” The auto inspection bill was discussed. A motion was made that the club send a telegram to the State Leg islature Representative favoring the bill. Officers were elected for the new club. They are: President, Ronnie Toppin; vice president and reporter, Judy Evans, and secretary-treasurer, Nelia Lowe Other 4-H’ers attending the , meeting were Joan Francis, Lin da Byrum, Ray Evans, Kay Bunch, Emmett Jones, Johnny Winbonne, Jack Perry and Rich ard Dixon. Harry Venters also was present. The second meeting of the Au tomotive Club was held Thurs day afternoon at Bill Perry’s Service Station. Mr. Perry told the group many good tips on car keeping. He stressed that with very little effort and relatively small expense for supplies, a car can be kept clean inside and out and looking good no matter how old or ntw. All nine 4- H’ers, Mr. Venters and Miss Catharine Aman enjoyed this meeting with Bill Perry.
