The Awards Program of the Community Progress Contest will be held Tuesday, Novem ber 28, at White Oak Consoli dated School at 8:00 P. M. Communities were judged last Thursday and only the judges know the ratings of the com munities. I can say all com munities made very good reports and they were surprised at the /total accomplishments summar ised from family score sheets. Groups were questioned exten sively by judges and the judges .were pleased to find such group and participation as the groups work together to improve conditions of home, surround ings, farm and community. All community organizations held meetings each month during *961. Communities working on Com munity Development are: Cen ter Hill, Hudson Grove, Para dise Road, Ryans Grove, Vir ginia Fork, Warren Grove-Green Hall and Yeopim. The public' is invited to attend the Awards Program. i It is very important to re frigerate cooked turkey. Right after the meal, k remove any stuffing left in the turkey. Cov-‘ er stuffing and bird lightly and refrigerate at once. Or, strip off meat and break up bones for broth. Refrigerate meat and bones Meal-sized portions of meat may Be frozen; properly pack aged, they keep well for a month. Cool broth and grqvy quickly. Refrigerate at once. Turkey Pie IVz cups chopped cooked turkey r¥t cup 'cooked diced celery tablespoons finely minced i onion. • •* \ cup .cooked diced carrots canned or cooked peas 1% vup medium sauce or turkey gravy unbaked pastry Place turkey, vegetables and sauce in layers in shallow bak ing drih or in four individual baking dishes. Bake at 425 deg.F (hot oven) 20 minutes or until hot through. Meanwhile, cut pastry into four circles or other designs and bake SEAGRAM’S V.O. Special Service At Center Hill Church Continued from Page I—Section 1 tune “How Great Thou Art,” entitled “Our God is Great.” For the of special gifts for the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina the Church Choir will bring a spe cial selection arranged from the tune Nan Danket entitled “Now Thank We All Our God.” The Junior Choir will be di rected by Mrs. Henry Napier, the Youth Choir by Mrs. Carl Bunch and the adult Church Choir by the pastor. The ac companist for all the music and the hymns will be Jakie Boyce, church pianist. The special message for Thanksgiving will be brought by the Rev. Carl Hart, pastor of the Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church. The public is invited to at tend this service which takes j the place of regular prayer ser vice for the Center Hill Church.
