He served many years as a local preacher, then was given a higher office bv the church as overseer of the Southern District which he served for 12 years. In the 13th year the Official Board of Elders anointed him Bishop of the Vpostolic Faith Church of God and Christ. Here is the record of our pastor through these 39 years. Having built eleven churches from the ground, with the help of the Lord, members and friends; he has served in many community affairs, served as president of the F’TA of the high school of Perquimans County. In 1946. 1947 and DCs with the help of Perquimans : County raised 510,375.00 for the school unlcr the superintendency of Mr. Bundy and 1 Mr. Johnson of Perquimans Countv. .1 Our pastor built a lunch room for the children to eat. took the cash out of his pocket and did the work with his own hands. He served manv years as a committeeman of the school. In addition to this, a home for the pastor was given, but he gave it to the old folks and fed them for 16 years out of his own pocket He hired help to wait on them. The church and many friends thank God for such a friend. At the age of 70 years old he still goes strong. The pastor and church wishes to i thank the many friends that have helped them through these many years. With the Annual Convocation coming to our church and with hundreds of delegates -I from all parts of the country, will bring ad litimial expense to the church.
