Rosevear urges a 100! per cent attendance. Three From Edenton Named On Democratic Registration Group Richard D. Dixon, Jr., James M. Bond and Mrs. L. E. Daven port of Edenton have been nam edto serve on the Democratic Registration for Chowan County, according to an announcement by State Democratic- Party Chairman Bert L. Bennett. The statewide committee is headed by Chairman John R. Jenkins, Jr., of Aulahder. Tom H. Shepard of Edenton is chair man of the committee for the First Congressional District. In announcing these appointments’ Bennett stated that the purpose of the Registration Committee is to get all voting age persons reg istered, with special emphasis on | young voters, unregistered wo ! men, those who are not regis- I tered in the precincts where j they are now living, and those persons who have registered for municipal elections and are un 'der the mistaken idea that they are also registered for county and state elections. “Our registration drive is one part of the great movement of the Democratic Party in North Carolina to broaden the base and increase the margin of Demo cratic voters in the State,” said Bennett. “In undertaking this compre- hensive registration drive,” he continued,* “we are seeking to build party harmony and soli darity for the fall campaign.” Mayor Speaker At Meeting Os DAR Edenton Tea Party Chapter of the DAR will meet at the Ire dell house Wednesday afternoon, October 10, at 3:30 o’clock. Girl Scout Troop Elects New Officers The Girl Scouts of Troop 8 met Monday night when offi cers were elected. Those elect- ed were; Rita Mayo, president; Dinah White, vice president, and Amy O’Neal, f scribe. The flag ceremony was held with Troop 2. The roll was called and on Sat urday, October 6, it was decided to have a cook-out. Refreshments were served and the meeting was dismissed. Gerald Harrell Fine Arts Editor At ECC Walter C.
