Wednesday: Beef vegetable soup, crackers, milk, chocolate block cake, peanut butter sand wiches. Thursday: Fried chicken, po tato salad, green beans, school baked rolls, pineapple, milk, butter. Friday: Tuna salad, toss salad, potato chips, milk, school baked rolls, garden peas, cherry pie, butter. The 1964 average was the highest ever. In addition to the three win , ners, those entering the contest . and their actual yield per acre included: Jimmy Evans, 3,854; Bill Monds, 3,300; Glenn Bunch, Jr., 3,100; Jerry Castelloe, 3,000; Tommy Castelloe, 2,700; Tommy Forehand, 2,568; and Garry Lowe, 3,050. Charlie Overman, farm agent, was in charge of the program and introduced Sugg. Naturally, peanuts were on the menu and they were processed in Edenton by Jimbo Jumbo’s.
