Earlier William McDonald of Hickory, state Jaycee president, said the DSA is designed to bring to attention the accom plishments and contributions of a young man working for a bet ter Edenton. He said to be eli gible for this high honor one must be dedicated, determined and responsible. McDonald said a person want ing to succeed must sacrifice. He said Jayceeism taught young men how to work with respon sibility. The speaker added that indi viduals in America today don’t Queen To Reign At Homecoming Miss Sandra Harrell will be crowned homecoming queen at the Chowan homecoming festivi ties on February 5 in the high school gymnasium. Sandra will' be crowned by Miss Linda Byrum White,l963- 64 homecoining queen. Winborne Blanchard, senior class president, will serve as master of ceremonies. Queen Sandra will be attended by Marilyn Baker, representing the senior class; June Turner of the junior class; Linda Nixon from the sophomore class and Peggy Bass, representing the freshman class. Miss CHS, Florette Byrum, will present the queen with a bouquet of roses. Senior class mascots, Johnny ahappoll and Kim Hare, will as sist in the coronation. Entertainment will be sup plied by Belinda Peiry and the Torches. The Torches will also furnish the music for the dance which . follows.
