The high winds which had blown around for two days managed to foul thugs up for his “lunch room” opening, with the power off for several hours. But a lot of fo'ks have already found the restaurant very handy for an “outside” meal and the grocery center very adequate for- sli ip : ping. Don't know too much about the ' “Fishermen’s meeting” which con gregated at Rocky Hock Commun ity Center this week, but I un derstand they had a good meet ' ing and discussed water pollu tion problems. We aren’t sure how the pastor got in on that fish supper, but he certainly did enjoy it. The three community clubs 1- \ their “covered dish supper” on I Thursday evening and then fol lowed it by a community meeting i business session. These were ■ Gum Pond, Rocky Hock and Beech I Fork Clubs. Specialized attention to those workers in the community who are given preference by law — i.e., veterans —or who have em ployment problems because of age, inexperience or disability. I am a widow receiving a pension from the Veterans Ad ministration for myself and chil dren. If I remarry, will the pen sion be stopped? ' A. Yes. However, the children [ will still be eligible subject to ' certain limitations as to age, in -1 come, etc. Q. I have heard VA programs on both radio and TV. Is it fair to the taxpayer to spend public money in this way? A. The VA programs you see I and hear on TV and radio tire broadcast free of charge as a public service by the stations. Q. Is it possible to have my VA benefit checks sent directly to my bank for deposit? A. Yes it is permissible. You ; should contact your nearest VA office and obtain the proper form for completion and present it to your bank. (J. How do I go about securing a guaranteed GI home loan? A. Apply to the VA for a Cer tificate of Eligibility, and after ■ selecting a home you wish to pur chase apply for the loan with the ' commercial lender of your choice.
