Although the campaign of Feb
ruary is ever, Shepard stressed
the necessity for thinking about j
h purpose of the Heart Fund 1
is not. As a reminder of the im
portance of continuing to keep the
principal safeguards against heart
disease in mind, Shepard named
the following points:
1. Reduce if overweight.
■>. Reduce fat consumption.
3. Control high blood pressure
4. Stop smoking cigarettes.
5. Exercise regularly.
6. Shun needless tensions.
“Heart Fund dollars,” said
Shepard “will continue to help in
developing new knowledge to
make improvements in the death
rate from heart disease.”

Farmer Ward and David A.
(Bozo) Barber took place Sun
day, February 14, 1965 at 2:30
P. M., in the Oaklette Methodist
Church. The double ring cere
mony was performed by Rev.
John Teter in the presence of
the immediate families.
Mrs. Barber is the daughter
of W. J. Farmer of Hertford,
N. C., and the late Hattie Farm
er. Mr. Barber is the son of
Mr. and Mrs.' N. H. Barber of
Greenville, N. C .
