SECTION TWO The Roundup raa M It seems that Viet Nam has gone coup-coup. Despite the bad weather we have been having. Spring .must not be too far away. The fer tilizer companies are beginning their Spring advertising cam paigns on TV and in news papers and magazines. Spring heralds the season of growth j*hd greenery and planting. It 'is the time for sowing the seeds that will eventually fill the and warehouses and, last but not least, our bellies. Food is the fuel of all things, that makes all things run—from tman and then, through man, all machinery and mechanisms. So, planting time is extremely im portant to our civilization and economy, and it is the lowly and humble fertilizer that puts the show on the road. It is smelly and messy, but it is es sential and necessary to man. QUOTE —“We are hated by all the world,” says a friend of mine. I don’t entirely agree with my friend, but I will add, that if we continue on our pres ent course of international poli cy, we will surely isolate our selves from the friendship of all nations, big and small. And we will become an island in a sea of mistrust, hate and fear. PHIL OSOPHER SAYS One doesn’t need sense nowadays to . get along—all he needs is a col- I lege education. I am often struck by the cour age of the professional camera man, that 'unsung hero who brings us graphic portrayals of, battle, storms, flood and civil. He Knew The Answers, Too A bishop met a minister trav eling on the .same train and be fore long they got into a con versation which turned on the subject of how the bishop had gotten his , vocation. He explained at length, and then asked the minister to tell the story of his calling. Self complacently the divine replied in all brevity: “ The Lord had need of me.” The bishop knitted his* brown in thought, then turned to the young man, “I have read the Bible quite a few times, but so far as I know, there is only one Y occasion of which the Lord said He had need for anything. At His triumphant entry into Jeru salem, He said He had need of /an ass.’’ r GIN JL 100 I KRpr'] proof I W r 100 woo* ) I $025 iISSS 2 PINT Hi umi ib 111 | 1 JHH.
