TO OUR MANY FRIENDS IN EDENTON AND AREA: We take this opportunity to express our deep appreciation for your wonderful response relative to the story which appeared in last week’s edition of The Chowan Herald concerning First National dropping its litigation against Peoples Bank and Trust Company. This action on the part of First National will allow Peoples to construct its tliird office in Edenton, despite the fact they still have litigation against First National on the grounds that NO FURTHER BANKING FACILITIES ARE NEEDED IN EDENTON. Your letters, your telephone calls, and your personal expressions in favor of First National were heart-warming, and again proves your • ’ I . . I • , ' ' .S* ’ -s. ' desire to have the services of First National in your community. We shall always he thankful for your overwhelming belief that competitive banking in your- community i& vital to its contiiraing" growth and progress. First National, with your support, will continue its every effort to meet your requests to establish a First National office in your out standing city. like so many of you have indicated, “We too are con fident First National will make an important contribution toward your goal of greater progress in all walks of life.” With warmest personal regards, i M. F. ALLEN, JR, President, First National Bank of Eastern North Carolina.
