If you haven’t worked under social security, or have not worked long enough to get cash benefits, get in touch with your social security of fice. You can still have hos pital and medical insurance if you apply. If you can, bring proof of your date of birth with you. 3. Remember that the so cial security office will mail you a simple form or will send a representative to your home to take your application if you are not able to travel. All you have to do is get a message to the office saying you want to apply. Hospital insurance will cost nothing after a person re tires. People who sign up for medical insurance agree to pay $3 monthly premium. The Federal Government will pay an equal amount. Pre mium payments will not be gin until a person’s protec tion starts. Byrum. p Bond Interest Rats Boosted United States Savings Bonds are now a more at tractive investment than ever before, Graham White, volunteer chairman of the savings bonds program in Chowan County, said today in commenting on the in crease in interest paid on Series E and H bonds to 4.15 per cent. White pointed out that the new rate applies from De cember 1, 1965, to all sav ings bonds, old and new, and will automatically in crease their earnings.
