It’s the season when your husband, the fisher of fish, has started oiling his reels, checking his lures and setting his alarm clock for early morning hours. If you’ve decided that this year you won’t be left behind, here are some s.porting hints to ease your way: (1) Go to bed early (after you’ve packed a light lunch). (2) Get real thrill ed when your husband pre sents you with the very lat est in fishing tackle for your brithday or anniversary. (3) Become very familiar with the tack’d box to a lady’s cosmetic box). Here your husband stores plugs, spoons, spinner and flies. Also corks, swivels, spare hooks, knife, sinkers, insect repellent, rags and adhesive bandages and may be a pair of gloves if you’re squeamish about handling bugs and other live bait. (4) Most important rule: Do not gloat if you catch more fish than he does! Ladies housewives do you have the household dol drums? Bring the water rap idly to a boil, then reduce • the heat and simmer, just ! below the boiling point for I at least 20 minutes. Plunge • immediately in cold watci • to prevent yolk discolora • tion and for easier peeling. These eggs will be warm enough to take shell color ; ing. White shelled eggs are | preferred for pastel colors • and brown shelled eggs are 1 nice for vivid colors. Here’s a timely spring 1 fashion note, about 90 years old: High heeled boots ; must go. A lady looks in finitely taller and slimmer in a long dress than she does in a short costume. There is always away of showing the feet, if desired, by mak ing the front quite short, which gives, indeed, a youth ful appearance to a train dress. The greatest atten tion must be paid to the feet with these short dresses and I may state here that high heels are absolutely 1 forbidden by fashion. Only on cheap shoes and boots 1 are they now made and are only worn by common peo ple. A good bootmake will not make high heels now, even if paid double the price to do so. Ladies—that is real ladies now wear flat soled shoes and boots. If you wear boots, you may wear any stockings you like for no one sees them. Day stockings should be the same color as your dress or may be shaded, striped or dotted White stockings are abso lutely forbidden for day wear. THEN ■ • ■ and NOW! Here’s How: To keep' your clothes from wrapping over the line ir the strong breeze, attach r clothes pin to the bottom of - the garment, towel, etc., and they will not flop around. Fasten your clip-on ear rings on to the matching necklace and you won’t have to scramble around to find them next time. Add a few marshmallows to your cooked chocolatr pudding makes it much creamier. Try using left over coffee i in your gravy next time— . improves the flavor. I Swift’s Premium | fresh leg ifflSTEß MEltll fan.
