Batemans Visit Parents Here Dr. and Mrs. .Durward F. Bateman and daughters, Cin dy, Brenda and Diane, left Thursday morning for Cali fornia after visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Bateman and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Byrum for three days. Dr. Bateman is taking six months of Sabbatic leave from Cornell University at Ithaca. N. Boyce as hostess. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. Boyce, presi dent, who also gave the de votion. Mrs. Tom Asbell and Mrs. Herbert Dale were guests from the Chowan Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Asbell gave the demonstra tion on ‘Care of Furniture.” She had a small table on which she demonstrated the proper manner of applying an oil finish and then a waxed >finish.
