Mrs. Flor ine Nixon, president, call ed the meeting to order with all singing “All Crea tures of Our God and King." Mrs. Charlie Peele read the 28th chapter of Mat thew, after which the club collect was repeated in unison. Mrs. Marvin Smith gave the treasurer’s re port. Old and new busi ness was taken care of by the group. Mrs. Frances Ward gave a demonstration on “Co ordinating Color Through out the House.” Mrs. Ward stated that planning is necessary if the end re sults are to be satisfying. Mrs. Ward went on to say that pale colors make rooms seem larger; strong colors make a room seem less spacious. Color based on yellow and red gives warmth to a room and colors based on blue and green give coolness to a room. So, in planning our col or scheme we must con sider size of house, rela tion of rooms to each oth er. Also size and shape of each room. Most of all, At Gum Pond shop around for colors. You can better decide what you want and be happy wits your decision. Mrs. Ward also reminded us of the Craftsman’s Fair April 19, 20 and 21. As all the clubs were asked to serve a frozen salad each month, the hostess served a ribbon salad. Sunday School Lesson Continued from Page 12 life dedicated to the con cept of Christianity. It was often stressed by Jesus in His teachings for He was well aware that just about every human problem He encountered had its roots in sin of one sort or an other, giving rise to spir itual problems His own personal realm. We do well, therefore, to heed the counsel of the Great Phy sician, and repent of our sinful ways before we ap proach Him. For only in the measure of our ap proach will we receive the solace and the strength we expect from our religion. Airman Chosen For Training Airman Riley Brothers, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William R. G Meeting Held By Witnesses Several Edenton resi dents were among the 960 delegates who attended the three-day circuit conven tion of Jehovah’s Witness es in Washington recently. M. E. Beltrami, presiding minister of the Edenton congregation, headed the local delegation. “Our world today seems to be faced with a growing indifference to God, the Bible and the moral stand ards set forth in it,” said Beltrami. “The assembly’s theme ‘Supply To Your Faith Endurance’ stressed the need for each Chris tian to examine his own faith in the face of grow ing criticism, and prepare himself and his family to stand firm in the difficult days ahead.” Beltrami said that the new, color film “God Can not Lie”, shown on Sun day afternoon of the as sembly to a packed-out au dience, highlighted not only the story of the Bible from beginning to end but also the fulfillment of Bible prophecies, proving that God lives. “Soon God will show to all mankind that he does live by fulfilling His pro phecies concerning the end of wickedness and the res toration of Eden-like con ditions to this earth,” Bel trami added. According to Beltrami, one of the convention high lights was the ordination of 14 new ministers Saturday afternoon. Joseph Saia, Watchtower official from New York, and W. B. John son, Circuit Supervisor, were key speakers at the event. The semi-annal seminar was sponsored by the Watchtower Society of New York.
