Department of Agriculture, the nation still has 11,000 county ex tension workers, about the same as 10 years-Vago. With supervisors, adminis trators and college special ists, the total is 14,000. At least half still are doing some agricultural work. "The program costs some S2OO million a year, of which Congress appropri ates 33 per cent. A similar portion comes from the states and the rest from county and other local sources.
