FACE TWO—A [BROAD STREET BULLETIN -by - Kate Thank God for another day, A chance to begin again, To erase the mistakes of yesterday, A chance to make amends. Thank you, God, for a day of health And to be with those I hold dear, Thank you for letting me be myself And to keep my conscience clear. I'm just wondering whether we, in our quest for material things, can’t "see the forest for the trees,” so to speak. We get so involved in every day living and sometimes so engrossed in ourselves that we miss out on so many of the wonderful but simple things of life. Before you read this, we —our Eastern Star ladies— will have had another food sale Wednesday morning. We’re having lots of fun, seeing so many people and having so many of our friends come by to buy some of our goodies. Last week we had such pro ducts as homemade bread, pecan pies’, cocoanut pies and cake, lemon meringue pies, vegetable soup and candied yams. This week promises to be even better with ham biscuits, apple sauce cakes and mince pies. So—if you’re interested in any home-cooked or baked foods—just call 482-2438 or come by the building next to the Western Auto Store —we’ll be there each week.
