Each person attending on Sunday morn ing is asked to bring a package of food to be used in preparing boxes for the needy. The adult choir of Eden ton Baptist Church will present a Christmas canta ta, “Carol of Christmas” on December 17 at 5 P. M. Mrs. Jerry Evans will have her Sunday School class of 10-year-old girls at her home tonight (Thurs day) at 6 o’clock. Presents will be exchanged. The group will go Christmas caroling and then be served refreshments. The Chowan High School Glee Club presented a Christmas concert Sunday afternoon in the school auditorium at 4 o’clock. The stores in downtown Edenton will be open as follows: Friday and Sat urday, December 15 and 16, until 8:30 P. M. From Monday, December 18 through Saturday, Decem ber 23, open until 8:30. The stores will be closed Christmas day and New Year’s day. The Edenton - Chowan Rescue Squad will sponsor a turkey shoot at Earl Smith’s store Friday night and Saturday afternoon and night. The Rescue Squad will sponsor Sam the Sham at Edenton armory December 30. The children will like this.
