Appreciation Day For Jones GREENVILLE Friends and supporters of Rep. Walter B. Jones are ar ranging a special “Appreci ation Day” program for the congressman. They are is suing a public invitation to all interested persons throughout the First Dis trict. The program is schedul ed Friday, January 12, at the Greenville Moose Tem ple. It will include a so cial hour at 6 P. M., and a dinner to be served at 7 o’clock. Several close j friends of Rep. Jones will make brief remarks about the congressman’s record of public service. Hugh C. Winslow, long time close personal friend of the congressman, and David E. Reid, Jr., Green ville attorney and ex-State YDC president, are co chairmen of the event. Winslow, who was Jones’ campaign chairman for Pitt County in the 1966 election, said the “Appreci ation Day” program is be ing planned “to give the many friends of Walter Jones an opportunity to pay tribute and express appreciation to him for the great service he has ren dered, both as our distin guished congressman and previously as an outstand ing servant of the public interest on the state and local levels.” Co-chairman Reid, point ing out that because of space limitations a limited number of tickets will be available, urged persons throughout the district to obtain their tickets as soon as possible to be assured of a place at the dinner.
