The State ASC Com mittee has set one price for single row bolt bins and one .price for double row bolt bins. The single row bolt bins can be purchased for $24.00 and the double row bolt bins for $474.00. Producers who may want to purchase a bin and re ceive a CCC loan can do so if they expect to partici pate in the 1968 Feed Grain Program. Although there are no bins on hand in Chowan County, a producer in this county can receive a loan through this office if he purchases a bin from one of the other counties. Catholics Plan Open House On Thursday of thi. week Catholics throughout the United States w.ill be gin to observe an Octave for Church Unity. “We here in Edenton,’’ says Father Joseph J. Lash, pastor of St. Ann’s Cath olic Church, “will begin the observance with the 7 A. M. mass on Thursday of this week and continue with a daily mass sched ule on through the follow ing week, when on Thurs day, January 25, the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, we will hopefully conclude in a spirit of - ecumenism. “We are also hopeful that the ministers 6f their respective churches will extend an invitation to their members to join the parishioners of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in ob serving the Church Unity , Octave Program. For this purpose we will plan an open house •• -on Saturday, January 20, beginning with a mass at 8 A. M. and keeping the church open for your observation until 6 P. M..” Father . Lash will be available throughout the day to-, help broaden knowledge about the teach ings of- the Catholic Church. In* Addition, it may be plausible to point out that a Parish Mission is being planned for the week of February 25. This (re vival as some will better know it-) mission will be the finale to the Year of Faith Program which is be ing observed in the Ra leigh Diocese this year. Double Row Bolts • 171 Bins Available: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Du plin, Edgecombe, Montgom ery, Moore, Northampton, Pender, Randolph, Robeson, Sampson, Surry, Tyrrell, Wilkes, Yadkin. 196$ Feed Grain And Cotton Programs Producers will be mail ed a notice showing yields and payment rates within the next two weeks. The signup will begin Monday, February 5 and go through March 15, 1968. Soybeans on diverted i acreage will not be permit ted under the 1968 pro grams. All small grains on diverted acreage must be destroyed by May 31, 1968. At the present time we do not know whether advance payments will be made at the time of signup or not. Lease And Sale Os Peanut Allotment Recent legislation per mits the owner and opera tor of any farm for which a peanut allotment is estab lished to transfer by sale or lease peanut acreage al lotment to any other owner or operator of a farm in the same county. More de tails may be obtained through the ASCS office. Reminders February I—Final date to return peanut marketing card to County Office. March 22—Final date to release cotton. April I—Rnal date to lease or transfer tobacco al lotment. Notify County Office of any change in farm opera tions as soon as possible after change. Premeasurement rates for 1968: $3.00 plus 80c per acre for all allotted crops and land uses with & .$7.50 minimum per farm.
