An assembly was held
in the auditorium last Fri
day at Chowan during the
third period. Charlotte
Nixon, a senior, gave the
devotion. Wayne Long,
' president of the senior
class, then presented Ken
neth Stalls, principal, as
the speaker for the pro
gram.
Mr. Stalls talked to the
students concerning grades,
Beta Club, etc. He then
announced that the purpose
(•f the assembly was to in
form the students about
the reaccreditation the
school is now undergoing
and the importance of be*-
ing reaccredited.
After the assembly ! was
dismissed, the seniors re
mained in the auditorium.
Mr. Stalls went over and
explained the events the
seniors would be attend
ing before the end of the
school year.
Starting at 7 P. M. Fri
day night, Chowan High’s
last conference basketball ‘
games were played for the ;
1967-68 school year. Both
games were lost but the
loss was soon pushed back
in people’s minds as the
1967-68 homecoming court

A dance was held after
the crowning of the queen.
“The Sounds Unlimited”
furnished the music. Re
freshments were served by
the mothers of the seniors.
It is hoped that everyone
attending this' event had a
most enjoyable time.
Quite a few diamonds
seem to be flashing around
Chowan. Shirley Copeland,
a sophomore; Erma Turner,
a junior; Lynette Boyce, a
junior; Brenda Hollowell, a
senior, and Emily Bass, a
senior, are the lucky girls.

The Bulldogettes played
the Cape Hatteras Blue
.Devils in the Elizabeth City
High School gymnasium
Monday night at 6 o’clock.
This was the first game of
the tournament for the I
Bulldogettes. Scores were
not available at press time.
Tuesday night at 9 1
o’clock the Chowan Bull- I
dogs played the Manteo
Redskins in the Elizabeth
City High School gymna
sium. Scores of this game
