The Forest Service se lects the test sites and su pervises the event. The prize money is donated by Union Camp Corporation and Jones Lumber Com pany. George Winslow, district supervisor from Perquim ans County and chairman of the clinic, states that the type of training receiv ed from a contest such as this is very beneficial to the boys participating. It was brought to the atten tion of the group by a number of the Vo-Ag teachers that several of the past contestants have gone into some phase of forestry work since completing their schooling. Since approximately 60% of the land in this area is in 'woodland and when managed properly has a potential of producing a return of 12 to 15 dollars per acre per year, stronger emphasis should be placed along these lines. Death Claims W. H. Lamb, 67 Willie Herbert Lamb, 67, died suddenly October 10 at 7 P. M., at his home. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Per quimans County. Mr. Lamb was the son of the late Thomas E. and Margaret Copeland Lamb. He was a member of Piney Woods Friends Meeting. Surviving are his widow, Myrtle Chappell Lamb; a son, William Ray Lamb; a daughter, Mrs. Carroll Wil liams; and three grand children, all of Hertford; three sisters: Mrs. Charlie T. Rogerson, Sr., and Mrs. Fred Smith both of Belvi dere; and Mrs. Lizzie Hol lowell of Tyner. Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 P. M., at Swindell Funeral Home. Rev. Norman B. Harris and Rev. Horace E. Twine of ficiated. Burial was in Cedarwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Pres ton Winslow, Archie T. Lane, Jr., Charlie Thomas Rogerson, Jr„ Paul Smith. Eobby Smith and A. D.
