George Winslow, district
supervisor from Perquim
ans County and chairman
of the clinic, states that
the type of training receiv
ed from a contest such as
this is very beneficial to
the boys participating. It
was brought to the atten
tion of the group by a
number of the Vo-Ag
teachers that several of the
past contestants have gone
into some phase of forestry
work since completing
their schooling.
Since approximately 60%
of the land in this area is
in 'woodland and when
managed properly has a
potential of producing a
return of 12 to 15 dollars
per acre per year, stronger
emphasis should be placed
along these lines.
