SECTION B Jordan Held For Superior Court Fred Jordan, 20-year-old Negro, Route 1, Tyner, . has been ordered held for trial in Chowan County Superior Court on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Judge W. S. Privott Tuesday of last week found probable cause in the case where Jordan was charged with shooting James A. Leary. Judge Privott set Jordan’s bond at $250. E. Beltrami, resi dent presiding minister, said yesterday in announc ing the cancellation of meetings until Tuesday. Instead of attending sem inaries, each Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses op erates a ministry sehool so even persons with low in comes can receive college level ministry training. Mr. WET Formed By Sportsmen PLYMOUTH Wetlands and Estuaries for Tomor row, an Eastern North Ca rolina - based conservation organization, has recently been incorporated under North Carolina statutes as a non-profit corporation. “We will now be able to appeal to foundations, pri vate organizations and oth er interested parties for tax - exempt contributions for our projects,’’ said H. E. Harrison, Jr., of Ply mouth, president of WET. The directors of the new corporation are, in addi tion to Harrison, Bruce L. Alexander of Greenville and E. A. Thorne, Jr., of Washington. Formed last spring by a group of conservation minded sportsmen, WET is directed towards promot ing of conservation, restor ation, management and wise use of all wetlands, estuaries and related na tural resources. Funds contributed to the non-profit corporation, Har rison said, will be used to lease and purchase land for wildlife management and to finance empound ments and resting areas. WET members now num ber about 300, most of whom live in North Caro lina. He said the Friday even ing program will demon strate two of the weekly congregation meetings, a model ministry school and a model service meeting, with a view to upgrading the instruction given on the local level. Mr. Beltrami said the program is designed to be interesting to children and adults and provides healthy association for the youth, many of whom volunteer their services to work dur ing the conference. Teenage girls of the Al bemarle Area who are in terested in competing can obtain entry blanks from your local school or from any Hertford Jaycee. The girl chosen as the local Junior Miss will be presented a scholarship and the Junior Miss Trophy. She. also will represent the Albemarle Area in the state finals of the Junior Miss Pageant. The state winner then will compete in the na tional finals at Mobile, Ala. The national winner shares in the $42,000 Am- Junior Miss Schol arship fund.
