N.D. Da| 18, Taken In Death Funeral eervices were held Monday V afternoon for Nathan Baker Dali, 83, of Tyner. The eervices were held at 3 o’clock at Happy Home Church with Rev. Harold Leake in charge. Burial woe in the church ceme tery. Mr. Bail, a native of Gates County, died Satur- J. 6. Spruill Burial Saturday Jesse Grant Spruill, 75, 117 West Eden Street, died Thursday afternoon at Nor folk General Hospital He had be en in declining health for several yean. Mr.' Spruill was a retired carpenter. He was boro in Chowan County and married to Mrs. Eleetie B. Spruill In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Harry Lee Spruill of Hert ford, and Charles Douglas Spruill of Norfolk, Va.; l one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn S. Atkinson of Norfolk, Va.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchild ren. He was a member of Edenton Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 2 P. M. Saturday in Williford Memorial .Chapel with Rev. E L. Earnhardt in charge. Bur ial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Williford Funeral Home had charge of arrange ments. He was a member of Warwick Baptist Church. Williford Funeral Home was in charge of arrange ments. Girl Scout News By Nan Stutsman, Scribe April 26 the Girl Scouts went to Norfolk. We drove up in cars. The drivers were Mr. Stutzman, Mr. Shelby and Mrs. Stutz man. We went to Treasure Island at 10 o’clock. It is in the azalea gardens. We went from the azalea gar dens to Treasure Island on a ferry boat. •After that we went on a bus around the Naval Base. We saw and heard a lot about the ships and airplanes. When we fin ished it was 12 o'clock. We then went to the zoo. We ate there. After lunch we looked around the zoo. There were a lot of animals. They were very interesting. After that we went to the planetarium. We saw the stars and the planets. We learned about clouds, storms and the sky. We were told our horoscope.
