John Baker and Linda Goodwin have been dis charged from the hospital. The evening worship Sunday night at the Eden ton Baptist Church was a recognition service for the young people who will be graduating from high school. A Bible, a gift from the church, was pre sented at this service. The Edenton Baptist Church RA’s won fifth place in the state track meet on Saturday in Wins ton-Salem. A Varsity Club banquet at which time athletes at John A, Holmes High School were honored, was held Monday night «t the Jaycee Community Build ing on Base Road. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are Spring-O-Rama Days in Edenton. It is a big sales promotion with cash prizes, entertainment, downtown displays and gigantic sales. Thursday and Friday Hom er Briarhopper and his band will play from a downtown stage 8 o’clock to 10 o'clock each night. Register at participating stores to win prizes. Edenton Jaycees will sponsor an air show at the base on Sunday, May 25, at 2 P.M. The Eastern Star ladies will sell chicken salad plates Friday, May 23 from 11 A M. to 7 P. M. The Senior Class of John A Holmes High School commencement exercises will be held Wednesday evening, June 4, at 8 P. M. at Ernest A Swain Elementary School audi torium. It was agreed that when' some investments are av ailable or overlapping funds in the banks that an investment be made in Edenton Savings St Loan Association. On motion of David T. Bateman, seconded by C. A Phillips and duly car ried that C. W. Overman be allowed to purchase table and chairs and house planning slides in the ap proximate amount of $249.50 plus freight Motion of C. A Phillips, i seconded by J. Clarence Leary and unanimously carried that Sheriff be re lieved of Western Union tax of 93c. Motion by J. Clarence Leary, seconded by David T.
